This is a lot harder than it looks, but once you get the hang of it there’s nothing like sitting your way downhill. I’ve only found a few areas of the country (Northern Michigan, Colorado, and New England) where bumpjumping exists.
Faster than two legs — try 12 furry paws instead. Sled dogs aren’t just for Alaska. If you live north of the 45th Parallel, chances are there’s a husky team near you. Not a bad way to get around.
Snowboarding —
Not much snowboarding myself since that last concussion, but boarders are alive and kicking in our area.
Ice Fishing —
Ice fishermen take their shanties very seriously up here — some equipped with TV, carpeting, and heat. And you don’t even need a cooler to keep your beverages nice and chilly.
Skijorging —
Who needs a sled and a whole team of dogs when one energetic puller and two cross country skis will do.
But if you really went to make tracks in the snow, nothing beats a sled with horsepower.
